I stopped in town to pickup at the Tyson meat packing plant. I been here many times through the years and needed to take a little rest and eat a meal before heading to NJ.. I stopped at a hamburger joint called Runza. Runza has about 100 restaurants in Nebraska. Nothing special about the menu or the atmosphere, just a small town hamburger place down the street from Tyson. Next time, I will try the El Rancho Viejo Méxican restaurant because the super chimichanga fajita sounds good 😋. I.E, if the online reviews are to be trusted.
Pro tip: Their are hidden gems out on the road and finding them is a Google search away. E.G., I found Los Tres Caminos in Marshall, IL & they have the best chicken fajita.

Vince Lombardi service plaza on the New Jersey Turnpike is located a stones throw away from NYC. This area used to be a real mess with lot lizards aka hookers, pimps, drug dealers, cargo thieves and etc. back in the day and I stayed away from it. In September of 2020 the New Jersey Turnpike Authority dozed it over and did a complete overhaul (pic above taken 8.14.2025). The new establishment is very safe with many security cameras and state police patrolling the area on a regular basis making the area pretty much riffraff free. Many nice shops are located inside and I personally like the Shake Shack restaurant which has a fabulous hamburger and fries combo. Thanks NJTA for making a nice safe place for travelers to stop, eat and rest.

I went to the Ohio State fair in July 2025 to relax and enjoy the day. One of the first things that I seen was a recruiter from the Ohio State Police. Of course I’m not joining because of my older age but this seized truck looked interesting. If you look at the OHSP social media posts, you will find out pretty quick that the police are targeting drug traffickers on interstates 70, 80 and other routes with sophisticated surveillance aircraft.
The OHSP planes and helicopters use advanced, high-resolution cameras and can perform thermal imaging to see through darkness and provide an aerial perspective for identifying criminal activity. These aircraft also assists with traffic enforcement, criminal searches, missing persons searches, and provide real-time video feeds to ground units via downlink technology for critical decision-making during emergencies and investigations.

Fall is the best time of year & after eating breakfast at IHOP, I took a 3 mile walk in the woods to check out the local scenery. The changing of the seasons are exciting to watch because the trees get colorful. The cool weather makes the summer disappear and the winter chill will be starting sooner than I would like. I wish it could be fall forever! On my walk I took a few pics, a 7 point buck and a landscape. It was a nice, stress free Sunday. Central Illinois is such a beautiful place, especially this time of year.

I got to my destination early today so I decided to get an early morning walk in. It’s a pretty chilly day here in Prosser, WA. but my gym membership has expired so it’s old school outdoors roughing it type of exercise. Think of Rocky running around Philly getting ready for the Creed fight 🙂 I walk rather than run because of my older age. The early morning is my time of choice because nobody is up and out quite yet and the “golden hour” is optimal for taking photos. I came upon this fruit and vegetable processing plant called Fruit Smart and they (in a nutshell (pun intended)) make apple cider. Washington state is known for its delicious and abundance of apples and is the top apple-producing state in the U.S.. According to Fruit Smart’s website: They take the apples and turn them into juice and places the juice into barrels/containers and then ships to destinations where the cider is put in beverages, cocktail mixes and so on.
Trains are more economically suited to transport product which is in bulk and is extreamly heavy. Trucking companies face several challenges when competing or collaborating with railroad companies, including:
1) Cost Competition: Railroads often offer lower transportation costs for bulk or heavy shipments over long distances, making it difficult for trucking companies to compete on price.
2) Speed and Flexibility: Trucks provide faster and more flexible delivery options, especially for short-haul and last-mile deliveries, whereas railroads are slower and less adaptable to urgent or customized shipping needs.
3) Infrastructure and Access: Rail networks require dedicated infrastructure and are limited to fixed routes with designated rail terminals, whereas trucking offers door-to-door service from origin to destination.
4) Regulatory and Administrative Hurdles: Regulatory compliance, scheduling, and coordination issues can complicate logistics when integrating trucking and rail services.
5) Market Fluctuations: Changes in fuel prices, freight demand, and economic conditions can differentially impact trucking and rail industries, complicating strategic planning.
6) Intermodal Logistics Challenges: Combining trucking and rail requires efficient intermodal terminals and handling, which can introduce delays, costs, and logistical complexities.

It’s December 2025 in Wisconsin and it is brutally cold, especially with the wind that is around 30-40 mph. Sometimes you don’t always go where you want as a trucker, you just go where the money takes you. “Follow the $$” is what you hear on crime shows & it is true in the trucking world as well. I have always stayed busy in this profession because of two things, I work when most drivers are off i.e., weekends, holidays and so on. Many drivers don’t like the north in the winter but it keeps me busy and that’s how I make decent pay.
On the pro side of coming up here, Wisconsin is a beautiful state and the people are pretty cool too, pun intended. But seriously, Wisconsin is the birthplace of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, the Ice Cream Sundae, and Colby cheese! Bordered by two of the five Great Lakes (Superior and Michigan), and home to countless inland lakes and pristine rivers, Wisconsin is a summertime wonderland. Rent a fishing boat and your off to the races. Catch a few walleye here, a few perch there and you’re all set for a delicious meal at the cabin that night.
Here’s a few pics that I took today, just for you: 1) Vietnam veterans memorial tank 2) near 22nd street…P.S. & yes, I photoshopped the US flag to the tank 🙂 Looks more interesting, huh?

You ever feel like a black cloud is following you around sometimes? I feel like that once and a while, but in this picture (taken 11.2.25) it’s literally a black cloud following this Bull hauler around, lol. You know some days you just can’t get a break…Livestock hauling is probably the most dangerous driving jobs to do because the 40,000 lbs. of livestock is in the trailer moving around while you’re driving down the road. Then the best part is unloading and loading them. Try manhandling a 500 lb. pig or a 2,200 lb. Brahman bull!
Hauling livestock has several positive aspects, including: Market Access: Transporting livestock allows farmers and ranchers to access broader markets, enabling them to sell their animals to buyers who may be located far away, maximizing profits. Seasonal Movement: Hauling can facilitate seasonal grazing practices, helping in managing pasture health and ensuring livestock have access to fresh forage throughout the year. Breeding Programs: Transport allows for the exchange of livestock between farms, enabling genetic diversity and improvement in breeding programs. Crisis Management: In emergencies (like droughts or natural disasters), transporting livestock to safer areas can be crucial for their survival and welfare.

Klamath Falls, OR.
Around 9 a.m. on 2.19.2026 at Love’s Truckstop, I was on my 10-hour break and decided to get my Osmo Action 5 Pro with neck mount out and record some footage of the new snowfall from last night. First thing, I came across a driver needing some help with getting a wheel rolling again, so I stopped to help the old chap. Luckily for me, it was a 10-minute fix and off again to get my 2-mile walk in with some awesome 4K footage of the area. Southern Oregon and Northern California have some awesome scenery.
Klamath Falls is a very beautiful place, located a few miles from the California border on Route 97. Don’t let the name fool you, there is no actual waterfall in Klamath Falls. The “falls” were more like rapids on the Link River.
Klamath Falls is known as the “City of Sunshine”, averaging over 300 sunny days per year—one of the highest in Oregon.
The city sits near the Klamath Graben, part of an active fault zone. Small earthquakes are normal. Although I haven’t personally experienced a tremor or a quake and I hope it stays that way. I like the 2.5-mile Lake Ewauna Nature Trail for birdwatching, the Badger Run Wildlife Rehab center, the unique Crater Lake Zip-line, kayaking on Upper Klamath Lake, hiking, mountain biking, snowmobiling, skiing, and golfing. It is a premier spot for viewing bald eagles, too. So much to do here no matter what season; this is a very underrated vacation spot.
